Steven Applegate...

prides himself on being a self-taught musician, beginning his professional career at about age 17 in the Midwest.  He moved to California when he was 20, immediately working as the Musical Director for the San Francisco production of the "Rocky Horror Show," and moving to Los Angeles shortly after the show's 9-month run. 

He is well known in the L.A. theatre scene and has directed musicals in almost every theatre in town, ranging from the Dorothy Chandler, the Shrine auditorium, the Shubert, to the smaller theatres.  He is an award-winning M.D. and LOVES doing theatre.   His other professional clients have included Sandy Duncan, Lorna Luft, Adrienne Barbeau, Cybill Shephard, Shirley Jones, and John Raitt.

Steven has been privileged to be a guest conductor with the Denver Symphony and the Dallas Symphony.

He has extensive recording studio experience, ranging from producing and arranging, to conducting, and is very comfortable in the studio with a small rhythm section, to a large 50-piece orchestra.

In his spare time, Steven is very involved with church music.
